ongoing upgrades for the unpaved upper section
The owners of the upper-section properties #600, #721, and #760 are very concerned that Wolverine Way, as it currently is, will not withstand another winter like 2016-2017. That winter, a landslide nearly destroyed a big section of the road.
The Weston Road Association, whose members are also contending with the risk of landslides closing the entrance to their neighborhood, have agreed to work with us on this project because they have no viable secondary access route which will be open 24/7 except for Wolverine Way. This project would not be possible without their financial support !
We plan a three-phase improvement:
Phase I (now) -- Smoothing the road with a layer of professionally-applied Class-2 baserock
Phase II -- Paving the high-risk sections such as the steepest hills
Phase III -- Paving the remainder of the road. This will include appropriate culverts and drains.
The schedule for phases II and II depends on budget but we hope to complete the full project within 2 years.

After the improvements have been completed, it seems it would be in all of our best interests to form an official Wolverine Way Road Association to handle ongoing maintenance and administration. As with the Weston Road Association, we will have a range of memberships for the different sections of the road, to ensure things are balanced fairly. We invite your inputs on this concept!
